“In the case of products like cacao mass and cacao butter, it is important that drivers work in a structured manner, follow procedures and are versed with the relevant knowledge. When I first started at Wemmers, I received extensive induction and was shown the way in the procedures to follow. I followed the basic training, in which I learned to work according to the appropriate protocols.
Part of the basic training was a HACCP course. This teaches you to handle food stuffs safely and responsibly. To keep my knowledge up-to-date and to refresh my basic skills, I regularly follow Code 95 courses.”

“As a professional driver, it is important that you are aware of your position of great responsibility on the road and that you respond appropriately in exceptional situations. We receive regular coaching from our own mentors. They shadow us and, when necessary, provide advice to help improve our driving skills. It is also important that you work with good equipment. I drive a modern truck and tank trailer. The tank can be heated so that the product is transported at the correct temperature. The tank trailer is equipped with systems for continuous monitoring of the temperature during loading, transport and unloading. Giving you as a client certainty that your product is transported in the correct conditions.”
